Founded in 1947 and run by the second generation of the Méan family, La Garenne International School offers a fantastic winter camp to children aged between 8 to 14 years old. Its winter camps propose language courses in the morning – French or English, beginner to advanced levels–and ski or snowboard, recreational and cultural activities in the afternoon, all carried out in a warm, reassuring and family atmosphere. The adult/student ratio is 1:2 and the same teachers and monitors of the school programme will supervise the winter campers.
This program is held at the same time of their school year program, which offers the children a unique taste of academic and boarding life over a shorter period. This is a unique opportunity to take part in an "Integration Program". The children will make friends from all around the world.

Private lessons with a multi-sensory teaching method and a small class of 12 students.
The academic programme is designed for children from 8 to 14 years wishing to learn French or English intensively. In a short time, children at all levels from beginners to advanced will develop their grammar and vocabulary whilst practicing reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Teachers employ a practical, multi-sensory approach to teaching English or French through games, music, arts and crafts, story-telling, role play, dressing up, cooking and quizzes, all of which help ensure lessons are varied and interesting. New themes are introduced every couple of days, for example, The World Around Us, Going Shopping, Poetry & Stories from Around the World, Exercise, and Hobbies.
Over 47 types of activities with a dynamic team and an ideal setting
As part of the ski and sport's programme, the students may take part in memorable super expeditions during the winter camps. They are planned in accordance with the student's age and capabilities. During the winter expeditions, the students may ski over the mountains during the weekends, discover other popular Swiss ski resorts (Crans Montana, Verbier, Les Diablerets, Zermatt), sleep in the mountain cabins or even go cross country trekking with snow shoes. The children meet with the Head of Expeditions and plan their weekend together, decide on what to take, how to transport their belongings, order the food they require, fix the daily schedules, etc. This helps the children to become more independent and to enjoy their memorable weekend expedition in the Swiss Alps.
