Summer camp profile: Founded in 1947, La Garenne International School is a leading primary boarding school located in the Swiss Alps. Owned and managed for two generations by the Méan family, the school is set in the charming French-speaking ski resort of Villars-sur-Ollon providing a secure environment for students. Its philosophy is based on the traditional values of responsibility, kindness and security, which are key elements for a successful and balanced life.

Academic programme

The La Garenne academic programme is designed for children from 5 to 14 years wishing to learn French or English intensively. In a short time, children at all levels from Beginners to Advanced will develop their grammar and vocabulary whilst practicing reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Small classes for different levels of learners with tailored tasks
In order to enhance conditions for learning, children are divided into levels ranging from complete beginners to advanced. Tasks are consequently tailored to their needs and expectations. Small classes mean that children benefit from individual attention, which motivates them to make great effort and be aspirational. Pair and Group Work maximise opportunities to speak and develop capabilities to communicate in a foreign language.

A range of fun afternoon activities The range of activities is of great importance and occupy most of the afternoons and early evenings. Blessed with a dynamic team and an ideal setting, the camp offers a large number of opportunities in response to the aspirations of the children. The pleasure, amusement, relaxation, friendships and personal achievements are the ingredients of a stay at La Garenne.

● Sports and mountain adventures: football, banana boat rides, water-skiing, orienteering and cosy camp fire evenings. ● Recreational events: trampolining, laser games, a giant maze, Aqua Park, Swiss Vapour Park and Happyland. ● Cultural trips: museum visits, exploration of historical sites, a chocolate factory tour, an excursion to the "Glacier des Diablerets", Montreux Jazz Festival. ● Fun games and themed evening events: costume parties, dance performances, theatre, singing, large-scale mountain picnics and outdoor games.

Valencia C.F. Soccer Camp at La Garenne: Valencia C.F. is a traditional strong club in the Spanish football league, La Liga, and also a strategic partner of La Garenne. The Valencia C.F. Soccer Camp at La Garenne is available only during "Session F" of the Summer Camp.

● 08:30-10:00 Language courses: English or French
● 10:00-10:30 Break time

● 12:00-13:00 Lunch: meat, fish, vegetables, salads, pizza, seasonal fruits, ice cream
● 13:30-18:30 Summer activities

● 18:45-19:30 Dinner: soups, pasta, Swiss specialties "fondue & raclette", hot-cold buffet, yogurt, fruit selection & homemade cakes
● 19:30-20:30 Recreational or sport activities
● 20:30-21:15 Shower / Free time: games, reading
● 21:15 Lights out for Minis
● 21:45 Lights out for Juniors
